PROFILE OF THE PROVOST

Prof. BAMIDELE Joseph Olusegun

Provost, College of Medicine

Prof. James Olusegun BAMIDELE is a Prof. of Public Health and Community Medicine. He had his MD, Degree in University Education from Rostov State Medical Institute in Russia and at the same period with a Diploma in Teaching of Russia Language in 1987. He obtained Postgraduate Fellowship from the Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in 1998, and also obtained the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2020.

He started his teaching carrier in 1999 at the College of Health Science, Ladoke Akintola University in Osogbo, Osun State as Lecturer 1/Consultant of Public Health Physician; he rose through the ranks and became Professor in 2014 here at Ekiti State University. He has published over 60 articles in reputable onshore and offshore journals. He has presented papers at different conferences.

He has served as Consultant to World Health Organization, UNICEF, CDC and many other International bodies. He has been serving as external examiners to many medical school for more than a decade and also as examiner to the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. He has equally served as Head of Department, Dean of Faculty and currently he is the Provost, College of Medicine, Ekiti State University Ado-Ekiti. His area of research interest include: work and human health and other area of public health like, immunization, immerging and remerging diseases.

He is a member of Leaned/Professional association among which are:

  • Life Member, Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), UITH Branch, Ilorin
