Prof. Olatunde Abass Oseni, a Professor of Medical Biochemistry started his academic career as an enthusiastic Lecturer in year 2011. Currently as the Dean of Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences (FBMS), College of Medicine, overseeing the running of five (5) Departments- Anatomy, Medical Biochemistry, Medical laboratory Science, Nursing Science and Physiology for strong, virile and successful programs anchored on the development of highly structured curriculum and well-equipped laboratories for both the Medical and Basic Medical Degree Programs.

Prof. Olatunde Abass Oseni was born on 25th October 1963 in Iboro, a town in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State. He attended Anglican Primary School, Joga Orile, Ogun State for his Primary Education between 1971 and 1976 and Baptist Academy, Obanikoro Lagos for his Secondary education between 1977 and 1982. After which he attended Ogun State Polytechnic (now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic) between 1984 and 1987 and Yaba College of Technology, Lagos between 1989 and 1991. He had worked in the university as a Laboratory Technologist at Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) from 1993 to 2011 while he bagged his Post-graduate Diploma (PGD.) in Industrial Chemistry, Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Analytical Chemistry and PhD. in Applied Biochemistry between 1997 and 2009. He was appointed Lecturer II between January and April 2011 at Ondo State University of Science and Technology (now Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa.

He joined the services of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti as Lecturer I in Department of Medical Biochemistry, College of Medicine where he has worked and rose to the position of Professor in 2020. He was appointed Acting HOD in Department of Medical Biochemistry between 1^st August 2016 and 31^st July 2019. He has attended many conferences and workshop both locally and internationally, he is a member of many Professional bodies including American Society of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (ASBMB), Fellow of Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology, Nigerian Society of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (NSBMB), Biotechnology Society of Nigeria and Nigerian Society for Experimental Biology. He had served in many University committees both in FUTA and EKSU. He has served as External Examiner and External Assessor to Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko and Federal University, Akure in Ondo State and Afe Babalola University in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.   

His research interests have cut across Microbial Enzymology and Biotechnology to the present Medicinal Biochemistry and Antioxidant Study.

He has over 70 publications in both onshore and offshore learned journals. He is presently working on various plants of medicinal and antioxidant importance for prevention and treatments of various diseases like Alzheimer’s and cancer diseases using Wistar albino rats and green synthesis of metallic nanoparticles. He has supervised several projects both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

He is a devout Christian, a youth leader and a Coordinator at Deeper Life Bible Church, Akure. He is happily married to Dr (Mrs) Margaret Oladunni Oseni and blessed with children.
