Professor ODU, Olusola Olugbenga hails from Igbemo-Ekiti, in Irepodun-Ifelodun LGA of Ekiti State Nigeria. He attended the prestigious Christ’s School Ado-Ekiti finishing in the year 1982. He was admitted to Study Medicine also at the Prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile – Ife in the year 1982. He obtained a Full Fellowship by exam of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN), Faculty of Public Health and Community Medicine in the year 2001. (He is a Specialist Medical Consultant in the Field of Public health and Community Medicine). His main areas of Research, Practice and Teaching are: Environmental Health, Health Management, Epidemiology and Reproductive Health. Professor Odu, started his academic career at LAUTECH, Ogbomoso in the department of Community Medicine in the year 2001 and joined the services of Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti in the year 2011 at the creation of a new Medical School in the University (EKSU COM) . He rose to become a full Professor in the Specialty of Public Health and Community Medicine in the Year 2017. He has also served in various Faculty, College and University Administrative roles ( Head of Department , Dean of Faculty) and Committees and is also the Pioneer and Current Coordinator of the Masters of Public Health (MPH) Program domiciled in the Department of Community Medicine of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences . Professor Odu is Married, of the Christian Faith, Community Developer (especially Sports Development) and Philanthropist. He is currently the Vice Chairman of the Ekiti State Tennis Association, Captain of Ado- Ekiti Tennis Club and a member of the Ekiti State Badminton Association. Professor Odu’s main hobbies are playing Lawn Tennis and Badminton regularly. He was appointed Dean, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, August 2023.
