Dr. Abidemi Omonisi is an Anatomic Pathologist   with special interest in Cancer Epidemiology and Molecular Pathology. He was re-appointed as the Acting Head of Department on the 1^st of August, 2022 .He is a member of the Nigerian National System of Cancer Registries (NSCR), Society of Oncology and Cancer Research of Nigeria (SOCRON), British Division of International Academy of Pathologists (BDIAP), Pathological Society of Great Britain & Ireland (PathoSoc) and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO),  Dr. Abidemi Omonisi is the Chairman of EKSUTH Multidisciplinary Tumour Board , the Founding Director of Ekiti Cancer Registry and Consultant to African Cancer Registry Network (AFRCN) with headquarter based in the University of Oxford, Oxford, United Kingdom on Cancer Registration . He is a member of the Ministerial Committee of the Federal Ministry of Health, National Committee on Cancer and Prevention in Nigeria and currently Acting Vice-President of Nigerian Cancer Society. He also represents all West African countries on the Research Committee of AFRCN.  He is the Principal Investigator of Prostate Cancer Transatlantic Consortium (CaPTC) Ekiti Site and the Director of Strategic Planning and Advocacy, CaPTC West Africa. He is an Executive member of Africa HepatoPancreatoBiliary Cancer Consortium (AHPBCC) with international headquarter based in Mayo Clinic, USA. The primary research interest is Cancer Epidemiology and Pathology. Dr. Omonisi have served as speaker at both local and international conferences and authored over 75 peer reviewed articles in local and international journals. He has co-authored three medical books.
