The current head of department is Dr. Obitade Sunday OBIMAKINDE, BDS, FMCDS

Dr. Obitade Sunday OBIMAKINDE is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He obtained a Bachelor of Dentistry degree from the University of Ibadan in 1999. He holds a fellowship degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery [FMCDS] from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in 2007. He assumed duty in the Department as a Senior Lecturer in August 2012. He is currently a Reader in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

He has published many articles both in local and international journals. He is a member of the following Academic and Professional bodies: International Association for Dental Research [IADR], Nigerian Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons [NAOMS], Nigerian Association for Cleft Lip & Palate [NACLIP], Nigerian Medical Association [NMA], Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria [MDCAN] and Nigerian Dental Association [NDA]. He has served the Faculty and University in various committees. He was appointed the Acting Head of Department on the 1^st of August, 2021.
