Dr. Adeleye Gbenga Sunday had his Secondary education at the prestigious Government Secondary School, Minna Niger State between 1991-1996. He then proceeded to the University of Ilorin, Kwara State where He obtained a BSc Hons Degree in Physiology in 2001. He had his NYSC Service Year in 2002 at School of Nursing, Jalingo Taraba State. In 2003 he went to the University of Ibadan where He got his Masters Degree in 2004 and PhD in Physiology in 2014. His areas of Research focus are Gastrointestinal Physiology, Heavy Metal Toxicology  and Natural Products. He has worked in several Universities such as Madonna University Okija 2005-2007, Anambra State University Uli 2007-2012, Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti 2012-2014, and Ekiti State University 2014 till date where he became a Senior Lecturer in 2017. He was the Head of Department of Physiology 2018-2020 and Sub-dean Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences 2018-2019.

Dr Adeleye has more than 33 Publications in Peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of several learned societies such as Physiological Society of Nigeria, American Physiological Society and The Physiological Society.

He serves as External Examiner at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels at Bowen University Iwo, Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti and University Of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa since 2018.
