I want to officially welcome you to the Department of Family Medicine, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine, Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti. The Family Medicine department is the first contact care of the hospital and train medical students and young doctors to become Family Physicians. We are committed to the person regardless of age, gender, illness, or organ system and take professional responsibility for the comprehensive care of unselected patients with undifferentiated problems. The clinical specialty of family practice is patient centered, evidence based, family focused, and problem oriented. Their knowledge, skills, and attitudes target community practice, current science, and continuous quality improvement.

Our Philosophy

The department of Family Medicine is always prepared to provide medical students with the skills and competences needed for continuous, integrated, coordinated, holistic and comprehensive management of common undifferentiated diseases/medical conditions, as well as health care needs of most of the people most of the time, irrespective of their age or sex, and in the context of the family and environment.
