Established in 2011 as one of the core departments of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, our department has played a pivotal role in medical education. At its inception, I served as the foundation coordinator, succeeded by my esteemed colleagues, Dr. M.U. Dada and Dr. L.O. Oluwole, who have served as Coordinators and Acting Heads of Department at various times.

Since its establishment, the department has facilitated the clinical training of six cohorts of medical students, five of whom have graduated. Beyond medical students, we are also actively involved in the training of allied health professionals, further expanding our contribution to the healthcare workforce.
